GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

Visit nearby Glacier National Park, with 700 miles of hiking trails, historic lodges, sweeping vistas, wildlife, and lakes perfect for boating and fishing. A short 45-minute drive from the ranch, it’s an ideal spot to visit and explore.

GOING TO THE SUN ROAD

No trip to Glacier Park would be complete without a drive on the Going To The Sun Road. Sweeping views of the valley, tumbling waterfalls, mountains peaks, and mountain goats are viewed along this 50-mile route that reaches 6646′ above sea level at Logan Pass. Drive in your personal vehicle or catch a tour in the Park’s signature red buses. The road is open late-June or early-July through the first of October. Check the park website for details.

ALPINE LAKES

Lakes surrounded by towering peaks draws visitors to the park every year. Drive to MacDonald, St Mary’s, Bowman, Kintla, Two Medicine, and Many Glacier are easily accessed by auto. Lakes such as Hidden, Avalanche, Trout, Grinnell, and Iceberg Lakes are all day hikes. Be sure to bring a camera!

WILDLIFE

Mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and more are often viewed while visiting the park. Sometimes, you’ll be lucky enough to see larger animals such as elk, mountain lions, or grizzly bears. Always be bear aware and carry bear spray while hiking in the park.

WINTER IN GLACIER PARK

In Winter, visit Glacier Park and take part in a ranger-led snowshoe walk. Mid-January thru mid-March, on Saturday or Sunday, meet at the Apgar center for this free, two-hour program of learning and discovery. MORE
